Our speaker was David Coward of the Save Our Schools group.  David is retired from the Boeing Corporation in Seattle.  He also is a former elementary school teacher who has strong  interest in improving the economic status of our local Apache Junction school district. David presented facts and figures regarding the districts needs.  SOS wants to demonstrate to the district that there is enough local support to justify putting the budget override question on the ballot again in the fall of this year.  To that end, they are seeking signatures on petitions that indicate a willingness to support the override at the ballot box. Dana Hawman will write up a more complete article and we will get that to you in a later issue.
