Our speaker today was Tanya Hughes from SRP on the topic "Save with SRP".  Tanya is a 2002 graduate from ASU who has been with SRP for 6 years in the area of energy- and water-saving education.
LED lights - available for every kind of use in your home or business.  Look for SRP discounted bulbs at Home Depot, Costco, Sam's Club and WalMart.
Water Heater Timer - No sense heating water if you are not in the house to use it. See savewithSRP.com.
Air Filters - midgrade pleated filters are the best to use. She recommends changing them monthly.
Shade Screens - can cut your cooling costs by up to 25% by shading sun-exposed windows. SRP-approved contractors give a reduced rate for screens.
Shade Trees - SRP is giving customers two free desert-adapted shade trees for your home.
Programmable Thermostats - these can save up to $180 annually if properly used.  Newer models offer remote access control from your cell phone.  There is an SRP rebate on them.
New ACs - SRP offers a rebate for installation of the new super efficient AC units.

Tanya also talked briefly about ways to save on water usage.  She mentioned water-efficient faucets, water-efficient showerheads, high-efficiency toilets and high-efficiency kitchen and laundry room appliances.
