Stories
Our visitors today were Norma Chase, guest of Brian Kabat, Roger Hacker from the city of Apache Junction who is doing a story on our club and Stephen Briggs, a representative of Congressman Paul Gosar.  Our speaker Todd House was a guest of the club.
President Bryant announced that the club presented a check for $2,083 to the Community Alliance Against Family Abuse. Here CAAFA founder Sharon Stinard accepts a symbolic check from Bryant.  The funds come from set asides for local charities in honor of our club speakers.

President Bryant Powell introduced our speaker, Pinal County District 5 Supervisor Todd House.  Todd gave us a report on the very bullish economic and new jobs situation for Pinal County.  He thinks Pinal County will see 8.5-12 billion in new economic growth over the next 3-5 years - likely the largest of any county in the U.S.
Here are some new developments Todd mentioned:
  • The Phoenix Mart - an international products showcase in Casa Grande. 1.5 million sq. ft.  300 vendors so far each at a minimum investment of $500,000. 3,000 new jobs.
  • Tractor Supply Distribution Center - 350 jobs
  • Pinal Air Park - future relief airport for PHX Sky Harbor.  FedEx and UPS and other by air shippers will use it.
  • Union Pacific Classification Yard - Picacho
  • Resolution Copper Mine - Superior  3,700 jobs
  • Available open land for siting large scale solar energy generating farms
  • Possible new north/south interstate (I-11) from Mexico to Las Vegas that skirts Phoenix
  • Potential inland port just outside Coolidge
  • Superstition Vistas planned housing development

It look like a rosy future ahead.
