ANNOUNCEMENTS AND CLUB BUSINESS

 
  • President Bryant recognized our newest member, Brandon Johnson.
  • Harrell Miller said his, “Good-bye.” He and his wife have been coming to our club since the early 2000’s, and have appreciated the sense of community provided by Rotary. They are now moving back to Napa, CA to stay.
  • Bob Homann presented President Bryant Powell with his first Paul Harris pin, recognizing him as our club’s newest Paul Harris Fellow. “Your contribution to the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International is allaying suffering, improving living conditions, and providing educational opportunities for young people somewhere in the world. This is truly a selfless action.”
  • Bryant received a certificate, pin, and medallion, along with our thanks and appreciation.
  • The Boys & Girls Club is hosting a premier fundraising event April 11 at Dolce Vita called, “Fire and Ice.” The event includes dinner catered by Carraba’s, live entertainment by “LaFlamme Entertainment,” dancing, and a silent and live auction. All proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Club of the East Valley. Anyone interested in sponsorship or a table reservation should contact Bryant Powell.
  • The AJHS Interact Club, sponsored by Tracey Yamamoto and Heather Itz, has three members going to the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) leadership development program.
  • Harvey Clark and Aaron McDermid just completed 10 weeks of training at the FBI Citizen’s Academy.
  • Jay announced the annual district conference on May 15 & 16. We will be partnering with neighboring district #5490. The event will be at Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak. www.rotary5510.org to learn more and register online. (See “Upcoming Events.”)

  • The drawing was worth $516 today. Mary from Canada won the drawing and $10 but drew the five of diamonds, so the pot grows again.
